Yoga and Do In

15th of May 2021 - 22nd of May 2021
Online workshop - YACEP 15 of May of 2021 The term "Do In" comes from the Japanese terms "do" which means "way” or “path" and "in" which means "energy". The Do In therefore may be translated as "The Way of the Energy". This term was mentioned for the first time in the book " The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine", and is the oldest book of Traditional Chinese Medicine, written around 2600 BC. Also called "energetic hygiene", the Do In is a therapeutic technique of Japanese self massage derived from Shiatsu and based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It improves the mind-body awareness and the circulation of energies. It is a simple practice that keeps us fit and young; an easy way to take care of our body, calm the mind and control the emotions. Traditionally, Do In was practised to maintain the physical harmony, mental serenity and spiritual elevation of individuals. It's an easy to learn technique and even easier to apply it every day. In ten minutes of daily practice, we can wake up, release and balance our energies, thus avoiding the fatigue and the harmful effects of the excessive stress. It can be practiced at any time of the day; in the morning is tonifying and preparing us to start the day on the right foot, and in the evening, it is helping to relax and create the conditions for a regenerating sleep. The practice of Do In includes also meditation and postures, as well as movement exercises and stretching. The originality of this workshop is given by the fact that is exploring an interesting combination of the traditional method with specific yoga postures, organized into a flow sequence, that will result into the harmonious flow of the energy into the 12 main energetic meridians of our being. There are no contraindications to the practice of Do In - everyone can do it. It is sufficient to fine-tune the force of the pressures to the zones we are massaging, aligning them with our intended goal. However, this technique is not a substitute for treatments and medical consultations! General content - The location of the energetic meridians - Presentation of specific energetic trigger points for a smooth and healthy flow of the energy - A basic sequence of Do In, including energetic points stimulation, postures and breathing techniques - Twelve yoga poses correlated with the traditional Do In pressures, for stimulating and harmonizing the energy flow into the meridians - The Matsunaga stretching exercises The students will receive an illustrated pdf manual in English Schedule 09:00 - 13:00 16:00 - 20:00 Requisites Zoom platform Good frame of the camera enabling a clear view of the entire body of the student, thus allowing the teacher to ensure the correct execution of the techniques Donation fee 40 € 20% discount for the ones who will also participate to the Svara Yoga Workshop Bank transfer, Pay Pall Registration and more info at sundari.edu@gmail.com Limited registration data : 12th of May,2021

Swara Yoga Online Initiating Workshop – YACEP

29th of May 2021
Content The cosmic cycles; Pancha Tattva -The five elements; Tattva Vichara - Active swara; Influence of the tattvas in daily life; The Nadhi-s; The three flows of prana; Prana Sadhana; Swara Activities; Pranayama techniques for Swara Yoga Introduction The importance of the breath into the human existence and into its harmonious integration with the cosmic cycles determined the ancient rishis or sages to develop a complete science around it just from studying the simple process of breathing. “Swara” in sanscrit means 'the sound of one's own breath', the word is designating the flow of the breath into the nostrils, and “Yoga” means fusion, or union, so Swara Yoga enables the state of union to be reached by means of one's breath. However, this form of yoga should not be confused with pranayama, which involves a different aspect of the breath. Swamy Satyananda states that “Swara Yoga emphasizes the analysis of the breath and the significance of different pranic rhythms, whereas pranayama involves techniques to redirect, store and control prana. Swara yoga may therefore be said to involve the practices of pranayama, but in fact it is a much more extensive and precise science.” * Swara Yoga is an ancient tantric science existing since before the Vedic period, over ten thousand years ago. Like all the forms of yoga, swara is aiming the realization of cosmic consciousness, having like particularity the use of the observation, the control, and the manipulation of the flow of the breath in the nostrils, flow that is correlated with the cosmic cycles of the energy and with the five elements. It involves the systematic study of the breath flow through the nostrils in relation to the prevailing phases of the moon, time of the day and directions of the breath. Through the practice of Swara Yoga, the breath become the instrument of the cosmic life force. Thus, the practitioner who observes the different patterns of breath becomes able to better understand the governing forces of life, the nature of the universe, and the effects of the elements on the body and mind, developing the ability to control its own being and to go beyond the mind´s limitations. Through the knowledge of Swara Yoga higher awareness is attained and all kind of negative influences can be avoided and eliminated. By becoming aware of the relation between the environment and the way the breath is active in each one of the nostrils, the result of the actions can be influenced. In order to achieve that, it is needed the knowledge of how the five elements (tattvas) are interacting and succeed one to each other, what is the rhythm of the flow of the breath in each nostril (Ida Nadi and Pingala Nadi) and how this flow can be correlated with the five elements in order to ensure success and positive outcomes for whatever the actions are. It can be as simple as checking the time and the breath flow into the nostrils before steping out of the house, noting the direction you wish to go in and then choosing the adequate foot with which you will make your first step! “Many of the yogic texts such as Shiva Samhita and Goraksha Samhita and various Upanishads discuss the functions of prana. However, the main source of recorded knowledge on swara yoga comes from the Shiva Swarodaya. Shiva is the supreme consciousness. Swara is the breath flow and udaya  means waking or rising. This text extols the significance of the different types of breath or pranic rhythms as told by Lord Shiva. In the tantric tradition Lord Shiva, who is known as Adinath (the primordial guru), first expounded the knowledge of swara to his disciple, Parvati or Devi. The Shiva Swarodaya was the outcome of this dialogue. The very opening of the Shiva Swarodaya emphasizes the importance of swara yoga. Shiva implores Devi to make sure that the science is kept very secret and sacred, and remains the highest of all the vidyas or forms of knowledge. Lord Shiva further states that in all the seven lokas he knows no greater wisdom or treasure than the swara. According to the swara shastras, by analysis of the breath deeper understanding of the cosmos is unfolded and the wisdom revealed within the Vedas can be realized. Through knowledge of the swara, a sadhaka can become a perfected yogi.”   Swami Satyananda*   * Swami Satyananda Saraswati on Swara Yoga; in: Swara Yoga, The Tantric Science of Brain Breathing, by Swami Muktibodhananda, Yoga Publications Trust, Munger, Bihar, India, 1999 Date and schedule Saturday, 29th of May, 2021, at 9:00 - 13:00 and  at 16:00-20:00 - GMT summer time (Portugal summer time) Condition of participation: Yoga Teachers Certified by the Sundari Integral Yoga School Technical requirements A desktop or Laptop with web camera with any OS such as Windows, Mac Linux or a Smart Mobile Phone Android or Iphone that allows the download of the Zoom App (should be downloaded previously) Donation 40 € Pay Pall or Bank transfer Participation through the confirmation of the registration Last date of registration: 26th of May, 2021 More information and registration: sundari.edu@gmail.com

The TTC I attended at the Sundari Yoga School was, above all, an evolutionary leap in my spiritual path. Homework help increase my perseverance in daily spiritual practice. I consider the course manual a "bible", very complete and useful. It was a beautiful and enriching experience, Sofia.

Excellent course that produced transformations in my life and in my being. It has provided me with tools that I have used to help other people to make their "way" and transform their lives, Idalina.
